National Bowling Stadium to host 2011 USBC Open Championships
The United States Bowling Congress has reached an agreement to bring the 2011 USBC Open Championships to the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev.

 
The USBC Open Championships will have a new look in 2009 with state-of-the-art scoreboards.

Construction of the proposed 100-lane bowling facility for USBC Championship tournaments in Osceola County, Fla., has been delayed which will require the selection of another site for the 2011 Open Championships.
 
Nearly 36,000 bowlers will get a share of the $5.5 million prize fund from the 2008 Open Championships.
The venue for the 2009 Open Championships now will feature 60 lanes and a potential record capacity of 17,400 teams.
Jay Futrell claimed the Regular All-Events crown and led Team Tilt to the team title at the Open Championships.
Jeffrey Vainauskas was the biggest winner at the 2008 Bowlers Journal as he claimed the Open Singles title and topped the Dual Entry prize list.
